INNOVATION, GROWTH & KNOWLEDGE-SHARING - IT'S BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR PEBBLEPAD

2020 has been a year of anything but ‘business as usual’ for many individuals and organisations. For us here at PebblePad, while there have been many changes to day-to-day working practices, we have largely remained true to our common PebblePaddling ‘business as usual’ principles. We’ve innovated, we’ve grown, and we’ve continued to share our knowledge and expertise to support the PebblePad and wider higher education community. And, on that latter ‘knowledge-sharing’ point, we are delighted to share in this blog post our Global Ambitions in Higher Education publication.

ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

Initially inspired by discussions with higher education trailblazers at the AACU Annual Conference in Washington DC, the publication is based on our ‘Global Ambitions’ survey which asked learning technologists, designers and academics to prioritise the goals at the top of their educational ‘ambition-ometers’. We are delighted that close to 200 individuals took the time to rank their pedagogical ambitions and provide a heads-up on how well equipped they felt they were to deliver on them. We've since crunched data, analysed patterns, created pretty infographics, and bundled all of this goodness together in our Global Ambitions in Higher Education paper. The publication outlines the shared ambitions, provides a ‘gap analysis’ highlighting the difference between ambition and reality, and offers unique and practical insight and ideas on how educators can bridge the gaps highlighted by the data.

This new publication is a direct descendent of our 2017 Global Trends in Higher Education paper and represents the latest in a line of publications exploring the kinds of learning ecologies best positioned to support the development of future-ready graduates. However, whereas the 2017 Global Trends publication (which has been downloaded over 2,000 times) is underpinned by institutional data, this publication focuses on the approaches, pedagogies and practices seen as being most vital by those directly supporting teaching, learning and assessment activities. We hope it will spark conversations about your own pedagogical wish lists and how equipped you are to fulfil them in your university.
