Introduction

Welcome to my ePortfolio. In recent years, I have been directly involved in the concept of ePortfolio learning:

  • Through my teaching, as I encourage students to develop their own beginning professional portfolio to support them as they embark on their new careers
  • Through my scholarship of teaching, developing my own ePortfolio to meet the criteria for a HERDSA Fellowship
  • Through my teaching and learning research, as Project Leader of the Australian ePortfolio Project, with the responsibility to examine the use of ePortfolios in contemporary Australian higher education
  • Through my leadership of an industry community of practice in library sector, exploring the use of ePortfolios in education and career development

I believe that the process of developing and maintaining my own ePortfolio not only supports my own critical reflective practice, but also enables the modelling of ePortfolio practice to both my students and my colleagues.

My ePortfolio is currently a work in progress. In its current format, it provides an overview of my academic career and my professional life, as well as presenting my HERDSA Fellowship portfolio which highlights my passion for excellence in learning and teaching. In the short term, I will be adding further evidence of my achievements, to develop a rich picture of myself as an academic and a leader in the library and information profession.

I welcome feedback on my ePortfolio: my email address is g.hallam@qut.edu.au.
